Android ‘Dream’ comes true

android_inhand.jpg

The Google Adroid platform for mobile devices is getting ready to go now. Supported by Taiwanese handset maker HTC,  Google Android device will be called the Dream.

…the Dream is just over 5 inches long and 3 inches wide and has a keyboard that is located under the display. There is some mechanism for sliding the display out of the way to use the keyboard and Engadget has created a mock-up of a device that has these characteristics. HTC announced last year that they would be the first to market with a Google Android device, but Samsung is also working hard to roll out their device.

During a Q&A session at the end of the press conference, one reporter asked Verizon chief executive Lowell McAdam whether the company’s new open intiative, set to be launched toward the beginning of next year, also signaled that the company was more seriously considering joining the 34 companies that had signed up for Android–a move Verizon had previously been very weary of making.

I-wood vs gPhone?

The idle screen of a cellular phone now can show mobile advertisement. A Dutch company i-wood has made it possible. The most interesting thing is that the banners are stored locally and are synchronized periodically with the servers of i-wood.
